WIN100 Programmable Outlet Thermostat Review

WIN100 Programmable Outlet Thermostat Review
WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat
This is what consumers are saying about this product.
One user purchased this in along with a heating pad for his dogs to use during days and weeks in the fall and spring where temperatures hop around quite a bit. The user is able to run the heating pad when it’s required. The benefit is the fact that it is not drawing power when it’s not needed. There is a small learning curve regarding programming that is a direct result of the range of options available.
Comment – EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for…for years. EXCELLENT thoughtful design. STOP WASTING ELECTRICITY with this amazing device!
The product is ideally suited to an air conditioning unit that has no temperature control shut off.
Another consumer came up with a very innovative use for this timer switch. He had purchased a room heater (quartz rod type) which had a conventional bimetallic strip thermostat. The patent for this type of thermostat dates back to the 19th century, and was cycling on and off in an erratic manner when running. The user rewired the existing circuit to bypass the bimetallic thermostat and simply plugged the line for the heater into the WIN100 which plugged into the 120v AC house circuit.
WIN100 Programmable Outlet Thermostat Review – After programming the WIN100, the user can simply turn on the heater and the WIN100 controls the temperature by cycling the power on and off. To switch the unit off, just turn the unit power off and let the WIN 100 call as usual. If heat is needed, just turn the heater power on, and the WIN100 continues to call for power to the heater which is set to power on. Some consumers believe the older bimetallic thermostats are a hazard and should be removed from the market.
Another user reports that the item was promptly shipped and it works exactly as hoped. The buyer was surprised to find that it used batteries (button type and they were included). When it switches the load on or off there is a slight but noticeable click. This user chose to control an oil filled space heater in the bedroom. The thermostat on the space heater clicked loudly, caused a bright flash when the current was interrupted (when turning itself off), and it did not control the temperature as desired. The consumer reports that “I am happy with the WIN100 and would recommend it to a friend.”
This thermostat does a great job of keeping a bedroom or living room at a comfortable temperature. It is very easy to program. One small issue with it is that the temperature sensor is very close to the wall. If you have poorly insulated exterior walls, this situation could fool the thermostat into thinking the room is cold, causing the heater to run when not actually required. This particular issue may require some compensation in temperature setting to correct for this. If you have well insulated walls this shouldn’t be an issue.
WIN100 Programmable Outlet Thermostat Review – this appears to be an excellent product and only your imagination will limit your use of this product!
